Mortisers
A Mortiser is a specialised tool for cutting square or rectangle holes or recesses in wood. The square chisel mortiser comprises of two parts, a four sided hollow chisel and specialised drill bit. The drill bit clears most of the material and the chisel provides straight and clean edges. A Chain Mortiser uses a chain with sharp teeth to dig the material away. The device is clamped to the work piece to ensure accuracy and successive passes are made to achieve the required depth.
